Kiyan currently ranks No. 62 nationally in the sophomore class of 2025 and currently plays at Christ the King High School in New York.

Kiyan spoke with 247Sports following his offer expressing how it’s an honor to continue his father’s legacy at Syracuse.

“I went to a Syracuse football game against Florida State on Saturday so I was already speaking with the coaches, but when I heard they were going to offer me I was excited,” Anthony told 247Sports. “I’ve been waiting for this offer for a while and it meant a lot just because my dad went there and won a National Championship there. A lot of people were waiting for me to have this on my checklist. It means a lot to me to have a chance to continue the legacy.”

“Your hard work and dedication is paying off. You are my son, my best friend, & my hero @kiyananthony…to get a scholarship offer at 15 yrs old from the school your dad won a championship with is mind-blowing…” she wrote. “Keep GOD first and everything else will follow… thank you @syracuseu 🏀I LOVE YOU & I WILL ALWAYS BE YOUR #1 FAN!!,” her caption reads.

Kiyan is elated to have an offer from Syracuse but he is also starting to see recruitment offers come in from other prestigious schools.

“I’ve been talking with Illinois a lot and I’m cool with Indiana head coach Mike Woodson,” he said to 247Sports. “He used to coach my dad at the Knicks so hopefully I can talk with him down the line. I’m just keeping all my options open right now.”

Only time will tell if Anthony follows in his famous father’s footsteps but until that moment comes, Kiyan says he is focused on preparing for his sophomore season.

“I want to show people how hard I’ve been working,” he said. “We have a lot of talent on the team so I want to show how we’ve all been in the gym practicing hard, getting each other better, and hopefully it pays off and we can win.”

“Individually I’m working on my defense and rebounding the ball since I’m growing and getting longer. I want to be a shot-maker and a three-level scorer. I want to be able to go to the basket, shoot the mid-range, and hit the three throughout a game,” he added.
